Morris County Freeholders Statement of Passing of First Lady Deborah Kean
Morris County Freeholders Statement of Passing of First Lady Deborah Kean
The Morris County Board of Freeholders, on behalf of all county residents, offer our deepest sympathy to former Gov. Thomas H. Kean, state Sen. Thomas J. Kean Jr, and the entire Kean family on the passing of New Jersey’s former first lady Deborah (Debby) Kean.
The First Lady was a model of dignity for our state, who exhibited great character, integrity and humility. She understood the great challenges of a sitting governor and the important role she could play in supporting his efforts and her state.
As First Lady, she also added to the state’s historical legacy, leading the effort to restore the governor’s mansion at Drumthwacket in Princeton, which is now a state treasure.
Debby Kean loved her state and her family, and enriched the lives of those knew her. Her passing is a loss for all of the people of New Jersey. Our prayers go out to the entire Kean family.
