Morris County Republican Committee Votes to Pass GOP County Line

February 6, 2021 – Parsippany, NJ – Today the Morris County Republican Committee (MCRC) voted 305 to 143 to pass a bylaw modification establishing a Republican county line in Morris County for the first time.

“I am thrilled that our county committee members have had their voices heard. This is a tremendous win for committee people, and we are excited to move the party forward in this positive direction,” said MCRC Chairwoman Laura Ali.

Ali continued, “Thank you to our team and all the people that made this victory possible. This was a team effort and together we worked hard to get our positive message out. It is not always a smooth path to do what is right but your support has enabled us to empower those that work so hard for our party every year.”

Congrats to Chairwoman Laura Ali on accomplishing what every MCRC Chair before her could not. Morris has become more competitive so 68% of MCRC voters today approved the change in order to meet that challenge and avoid costly primary fights. Congrats to Laura and her team for this historic victory,” said William Palatucci, Republican National Committeeman for New Jersey.

The creation of a Morris County line was widely supported by county committee members, GOP legislators, and elected officials across the county.

This measure will enable a county convention in Morris to endorse candidates before the Primary Election in June.
