Morris Dems Welcome New Political Director

Leslye Moya, former Campaign Coordinator for Carolyn Blackman’s successful campaign for Mayor of Dover, has been named the new Political Director of the Morris County Democratic Committee.

Moya will succeed Ore Obiwumi, who has served as Political Director of the organization for 2 years.

“Ore has done a wonderful job for our organization over the last several years as we have gained two members of Congress and greatly increased our number of mayors and local elected officials,” Morris County Democratic Committee Chairman Chip Robinson stated. “We believe that Leslye has the temperament, intelligence, and character to follow in Ore’s footsteps.”

“I have full confidence that Leslye will continue building on the successes this organization has seen over the past few years,”  Obiwumi said. “It has been an honor serving as the Political Director of the MCDC. In my time as Political Director, the MCDC has elected 26 new Democrats, including 6 new Democratic Mayors. I couldn’t be more proud of what we as a party have accomplished.”

“I am really excited and honored to step into this new position,” Moya stated. “I’d like to thank Chairman Chip Robinson and Ore Obiwumi for their guidance and I look forward to helping build the Democratic Party here in Morris County.”
