The summer is not yet over, but the election season is already in high gear. The two Democratic candidates for Township Committee in Morris Township are hitting the road with an active ‘campaign kick-off’ Sunday, August 12th from 6 pm to 8 pm.
Jeff Grayzel and Mark Gyorfy have years of experience serving the community and will work hard for residents when elected this Fall.
Grayzel’s unique experience comes from having previously served on the Township Committee (2007-2009 and 2012-2014). During his tenure, he served on the Planning Board, helped bring shared services of a joint municipal court with four nearby towns and served on the sewer utility sub-committee. He has a vast knowledge of how the municipality works from having served on a multitude of sub-committees during his time on Township Committee.
Grayzel is a strong advocate for openness and transparency in Township Committee decision making: “Many residents are still frustrated by the lack of information about our town and the fact that all the decisions are made in the back-room. That must change.”
Mark Gyorfy is a former Congressional Advisor, and he has proudly served his community as a volunteer firefighter for nearly a decade and continues his service as a member of Hillside Hose Company No. 1. He was born and raised in Morris Township and is a graduate of Morristown High School.
Gyorfy has a keen awareness of the current issues facing residents from his service to the town through the fire department, his experience managing legislation and providing constituent services for a New Jersey Member of Congress:
“Morris Township’s 21st-century problems deserve 21st-century solutions. It’s time to move on from representatives who operate behind closed doors, ignore public input, and keep their sights on the past instead of preparing the Township for the future.”
Their Campaign Kick-Off takes place Sunday, August 12th from 6 pm to 8 pm at 18 Glimpsewood Lane in Morris Township.
