MTSD Board Member Peter Dumovic Recognized by New Jersey School Boards Association for Certifications

Mendham Township, NJ – Peter Dumovic, a member of the Mendham Township Board of Education, was recently recognized by the New Jersey School Boards Association (NJSBA) for earning three certifications: Certified Board Member, Master Board Member, and Certified Board Leader.

“I am honored to be formally recognized by the New Jersey School Boards Association for my achievements,” Dumovic said. “The certifications I have earned are in areas critical to effective school board governance and demonstrate my commitment to professional development.”

Superintendent Sal Constantino congratulated Dumovic and thanked him for continuing to grow professionally as a board member. “Research has shown that Board of Education members who commit to their professional development can help drive student achievement and strong student outcomes in their school districts,” Constantino said.

Dumovic was elected to the Mendham Township Board of Education in November 2018 and re-elected in November 2021. He currently serves as chair of the Policy & Planning Committee and is a member of the Personnel & Human Resources Committee. He is the school district’s delegate to the Morris County School Boards Association and is an active member of the Association, serving as a Board Director and a member of the Recognition Awards Committee.

At the Morris County School Boards Association celebrations meeting on June 16, 2022, Dumovic was recognized for his school board member certifications.  NJSBA offers a variety of certification programs for board members who wish to take their training to a higher level.

“My dedication of substantial time and effort to improve my skills and knowledge as a Board of Education member and my service in the Morris County School Boards Association demonstrate active involvement and commitment to my community and the education of students in Mendham Township,” Dumovic said. “I’m proud to have obtained advanced certifications from the NJSBA, especially given less than 3% of school board members in New Jersey have earned this level of achievement.”
