Murphy Campaign Unveils New Ad, ‘Dishes,’ Highlighting Need for Economic Fairness

Newark — The Murphy for Governor campaign today released a new 30-second television spot focused on ensuring equal economic opportunity and fair wages for all New Jerseyans.

In the ad, Murphy recounts his first job, working as a dishwasher in a diner at age 13. Unbeknownst to him, the diner owner was paying him with checks that would bounce — stealing his wages — until Murphy’s father stepped in. Murphy aims to restore the state’s economy and make it fair for all residents, with a minimum wage of $15 and equal pay for equal work.

“I’ve never forgotten that feeling of being cheated out of honest pay for honest work, or the gratitude that someone had my back,” says Murphy. “That’s why I’ll fight for a livable minimum wage and equal pay, and why I’m running for governor — to take on the special interests and expand opportunity for everyone. I’ll have your back.”

The ad is now running statewide; to view it click here.
