Mussab Ali Selected as Selected as National Youth250 Bureau Member
Jersey City, NJ – Former Jersey City BOE President, education non-profit founder, and Jersey City Mayoral Candidate Mussab Ali has been selected as one of 100 members of the national Youth250 Bureau, a groundbreaking initiative led by Made By Us to amplify young voices in commemorating America’s 250th anniversary in 2026.
The Youth250 Bureau, composed of individuals aged 18–30 from across the nation, collaborates on impactful projects that celebrate the past, present, and future of American democracy. Members of the Bureau serve as key resources to organizations and communities planning events and initiatives for the 250th anniversary of the United States, commemorating the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776.
“I am deeply honored to join the Youth250 Bureau and represent Jersey City on this national stage as we prepare to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary,” said Mussab Ali. “This initiative empowers young voices to reflect on our history, address our challenges, and envision a more inclusive and equitable future. I look forward to contributing to this important work and ensuring that the next generation’s perspectives are at the forefront of our nation’s story.”
As a Youth250 Bureau member, Ali will participate in at least 20 hours of training and coaching, work directly with national organizations, and contribute to creative projects and programs. In addition, a docu-series will feature the experiences of Bureau members, offering a window into the perspectives of Generation Z during this pivotal time in U.S. history.
The Youth250 Bureau is supported by the Institute for Museum and Library Services and launched in partnership with organizations including the Smithsonian Institution, National Archives Foundation, National Park Service, and Teen Vogue.
“It’s time for America to tap into its biggest asset – the youth wave sweeping our nation,” said Caroline Klibanoff, Executive Director of Made By Us and a New America US@250 Senior Fellow. “The U.S. 250th is an opportunity to cultivate pride, reckoning, and aspiration in the American story, and this starts with giving the next generation a seat at the table.”
