NARAL Pro-Choice America Endorses Josh Gottheimer for Re-election to Congress

Incumbent in New Jersey’s 5th Congressional District Earns Endorsement from Nation’s Leading Pro-Choice Advocacy Group

NARAL Pro-Choice America today announced its endorsement of Congressman Josh Gottheimer in his campaign for re-election to represent New Jersey’s 5th Congressional District.

“Congressman Gottheimer is a fighter for New Jersey women and families, and we are proud to endorse his re-election to Congress,” said Ilyse Hogue, president of NARAL Pro-Choice America. “We need members of Congress like him who believe in a woman’s right to make decisions about her own family without political interference.”

“I am grateful to receive the endorsement from NARAL Pro-Choice America,” said Congressman Gottheimer. “I am fully committed to protecting every woman’s right to make her own private, medical decisions. I’ll continue to work to strengthen access to comprehensive and affordable health care. As I said in my very first speech on the floor of Congress, I will fight any attempt by those in Washington to roll back the clock and stand between a woman and her doctors when it comes to her health.”

Josh Gottheimer represents New Jersey’s Fifth Congressional District in the northernmost part of the state, which includes parts of Bergen, Passaic, Sussex and Warren counties. He serves on the House Financial Services Committee where he works on three Subcommittees: the Capital Markets, Securities, and Investments Subcommittee, the Oversight and Investigation Subcommittee, and the Terrorism and Illicit Finance Subcommittee. He also serves as Co-Chair of the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus. Josh delivered his first speech on the floor of the House of Representatives on standing up for a woman’s right to choose. In his first term in Congress, Josh voted against legislation that would roll back progress on women’s health.
