“NATIONAL CHILDREN’S MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS DAY AMPLIFIED BY FAMILY SUPPORT ORGANIZATION OF UNION COUNTY WITH HONKING”
(Plainfield, N.J.) — On Thursday, May 9th from 3 pm to 6 pm, noise levels are anticipated to rise on Park Avenue between Martine and Thornton Avenues in recognition of National Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day. The Family Support Organization (FSO) of Union County is holding an outdoor awareness event asking passing drivers to “Honk to Support Mental Health Awareness.”
In addition to holding signage asking for drivers to beep their horns, volunteers will provide literature and direct interested drivers to the parking lot for more information about the importance of mental health to a child’s healthy development. There will also be a DJ playing light music and light refreshments will be provided.

FSO joins more than 1,100 communities across the country in celebrating the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s (SAMHSA) National Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day to highlight the importance of children’s mental health.
