National Winter Activity Center to Host Inaugural Fundraising Golf Outing to Help Youth
Nation’s First Youth-Only Winter Activity Facility Providing Sustainable Access and Life Changing Opportunities
Vernon, NJ., July 28, 2017 – The National Winter Activity Center (NWAC) will host its first fundraising Golf Outing on Thursday, September 14, 2017, at the Bowling Green Golf Club (53 School House Road, Oak Ridge, NJ 07438). All proceeds will benefit programs through the Center’s Elev8 platform which allows its participants to master winter activity skills and to shape their development as young men and women.
The Center invites all those with interest, to join in on a day of fun and friendly competition. A breakfast buffet will be served (7:00am) with an early morning shotgun start in scramble format (9:30am) followed by a lunch and awards ceremony immediately after the conclusion of play. Those interested in learning how to play will have the option to take a golf lesson (11:00am). Sponsorship package opportunities are available.
The National Winter Activity Center, located in Vernon, New Jersey offers kids, an organized opportunity to learn winter sports while developing healthy habits instilled in their daily routine and life. Providing access to lessons in snowboarding, alpine, and cross-country skiing, winter clothing, healthy meals and mentoring, the Center served over 6,900 meals to 1,100 kids in 2017 alone. The Center aims to see participants double to 2,200 in the upcoming 2018 season, thanks in part to and only possible because of the unwavering financial support of its partners.

Located in the heart of Northern New Jersey bordering Sussex, Passaic & Morris Counties, Bowling Green Golf Club lies in a valley below the rugged terrain of Morris County’s Mahlon Dickerson Park and is the very definition of an Eastern Woodlands landscape. Bowling Green’s front nine features narrow fairways lined with towering Red Pines or majestic Oaks. Later in the fall, the foliage is their signature feature, along with doglegs, water hazards created by the bordering wetlands of the Rockaway River, nicely varying Par 3s, and recovery shots from the rough.
