Neptune City Candidates Burr, O’Brien & Sullivan Announce Their Race for Council

Neptune City, N.J. – With determination, experience, and commitment on their side, the team
of Burr, O’Brien, and Sullivan are announcing their election campaign for Council in Neptune
City this November.

Looking to add to the great leadership currently steering Neptune City, Robert “Rob” Burr and
Michaela O’Brien are seeking their first terms as they join together with current Councilman

Brian Sullivan, as he aims to secure his position on the governing body this Election Day.
Councilman Sullivan, who chairs the Public Works Committee and co-chairs the
Administration of Justice Committee, is eager to expand on all of the work accomplished thus
far. Even during the current public health crisis facing the State, Sullivan has championed
several initiatives which have increased the quality of life and character of Neptune City for all:

“I have been working hard to give our community the very best because that is what our
residents expect and deserve,” says Sullivan. “I am truly proud of what we’ve done since I
joined Council this year. Everything from upgrading our parks and website to expanding
programs and services to our residents – all of this was accomplished no matter the challenge
we faced.”

Sullivan has prolific experience both in the private industry, as executive director of network
operations for a nationally recognized telecommunications firm, and in civic involvement having
served as president of the Neptune City Board of Education for a decade as well as coaching
several local teams:

“My focus is to ensure the future remains bright and that we head in the right direction for years
to come,” continued Sullivan. “It is an honor to be a member of our Council and having the
opportunity to give-back to Neptune City again. I greatly look forward to continuing my service to
our community this November.”

Rob Burr, who served with Sullivan on both the Neptune City Boards of Education and
Recreation during the years when the school experienced prosperous growth, exemplifies
dedication to community and public service:

“Neptune City isn’t just another town or a place on a map – it is our home,” explained Burr. “I
have a passion to serve our town and community as well as to do what’s best for every single
one of our residents.”

No stranger to small businesses, Burr brings with him not only his dedication, but his
experiences in business management and operations which will be a great asset to Neptune
City following the economic effects from COVID-19:

“My dedication is to ensure that we remain a town where our local businesses are supported, in
the good times and the bad. These are our neighbors, friends, and family members and I want
to help them to continue to be there long into the future.”

Michaela O’Brien, who is the chair of the Municipal Drug Alliance, wants to make certain that
Neptune City continues on the path to growth and prosperity:

“An opportunity is before us to make certain that our community remains the amazing place it is
while highlighting all it has to offer and embracing its unique diversity,” said O’Brien. “We are
one community and through working in unison, the sky becomes our only limit for how far we
can go!”

O’Brien is eager to prove that her experience and knowledge is well beyond her years as well
as bringing her desire to ensure good governance is the focal point of every elected official:

“Being an elected official means more than taking pictures and seeking an opportunity to
improve one’s own political standing – though some may forget that,” said O’Brien. “I have
proudly stood against political gesturing in the past. Now, I look forward to an opportunity to
stand with my running-mates and Neptune City’s current governing leadership, to make certain
all our residents remain our primary focus.”
