Neptune City GOP: Neptune City Democrats Hire Mayors to Fill Borough Positions Despite Opposition

Neptune City Democrats Hire Mayors to Fill Borough Positions Despite Opposition

Neptune City, N.J. – As if political games in Washington, D.C. and New Jersey weren’t already bad enough, the Democrat members of the Neptune City Council took it up to another level as they hired two Mayors to fill taxpayer funded positions in the Borough.

During the February 1st Special Council meeting the Democrat Majority hired the Democrat Mayor of Freehold Borough as the new business administrator along with the Democrat Mayor of West Orange being hired to provide insurance services. The issue was compounded when a councilwoman, Danielle Pappas, was aggressively reprimanded for questioning whether proper hiring procedures were upheld:

“The disregard for my simple questions is highly alarming and should be of great concern for our residents,” said Councilwoman Pappas. “It makes me wonder, are they simply choosing not to answer or they just do not want the truth exposed to the residents of Neptune City. No matter, I will continue asking.”

Although they received opposition from fellow Councilmembers, the Democrat Majority chose party nepotism, epitomizing D.C. and Trenton-style politics to a tee. Going as far as seemingly not adhering to hiring guidelines imposed and approved of by two of their fellow party councilmembers in prior years. Now the residents of Neptune City will be footing the bill for the apparent appeasement of political bosses:

“I was elected to represent my residents, all of them, not worry about repaying political favors and debts – that’s why I questioned these actions and frankly, will continue to do so,” concluded Councilwoman Pappas.  “It is my sworn obligation to serve the residents of Neptune City regardless of whether some of my colleagues on council forget it or blatantly choose to ignore it. Their disrespect of me won’t change that!”
