New Coalition Calls on Governor to Stop NJ Transit Gas Power Plant

 

Local residents and state environmental groups will hold a press conference to call on Governor Murphy to reject a proposed fracked gas power plant along the Hackensack River in Kearny.

 

WHO: Food & Water Watch, New Jersey Sierra Club, Hackensack Riverkeeper, Coalition to Ban Unsafe Oil Trains, Clean Water Action, Sunrise Movement Jersey City and others

 

WHAT: Rally and Press Conference announcing new coalition effort to defeat NJ Transit power plant proposal. Rain or Shine.

WHEN: Tuesday, July 23 – 11:30AM

 

WHERE: Leonard Gordon Park –  John F. Kennedy Blvd. and Manhattan Avenue, Jersey City.

1:00 pm. Hackensack Riverkeeper has offered to take journalists on an eco cruise to the proposed power plant site.
