New Jersey Cannabusiness Association Partners With Athletes For Care For Their Next Installment Of The “NJCBA Presents” Series Set For September 27th
Trenton, NJ, September 6, 2017 – The New Jersey CannaBusiness Association (NJCBA), the state’s leading business advocacy group for expanding access to medical cannabis and responsible adult-use of cannabis, is continuing its year-long series of industry-related seminars and networking sessions. The sessions – “New Jersey CannaBusiness Associations Presents” – are part of the NJCBA’S ongoing effort to promote the growth of the current medical cannabis industry and the expansion into a responsible adult-use cannabis market in New Jersey.
The third installment in the “NJCBA Presents” series will be held on Wednesday, September 27th from 3-8 p.m. at the Galloping Hill Golf Club, located at 3 Golf Drive in Kenilworth. Members of the media are welcome to attend.
“We are excited to announce our partnership with Athletes for CARE for our upcoming cannabis business conference and networking event,” stated Scott Rudder, President of the NJCBA. “Engaging with Athletes for CARE is a natural fit as we both share the same objective of a responsible approach towards medical treatment and, when appropriate, utilizing medical cannabis as a healthier alternative to opioids.”
In addition to a shared position on medical cannabis, many of the former athletes that are “Ambassadors” for Athletes for CARE, are also business professionals with products or services in the medical cannabis industry.
Lindy Snider, Chair of Athletes for CARE, added, “A significant part of our mission is to advocate on behalf of athletes. Whether it is for career and financial guidance or for the right to healthier alternatives to opioids for pain management, we are focused on the health and welfare our membership. Sharing our mission and educating others is critical to achieving these goals.”
Snider, who is also the CEO of LindiSkin, a skincare line designed specifically for the unique needs of people with the most compromised skin continued, “Working with Scott and developing a strategic relationship with the New Jersey CannaBusiness Association is an important part of that process.”
The speakers for the event on September 27th include:
- Senator Nick Scutari (D-22, Linden), lead sponsor of legislation to legalize and regulate cannabis
- Lindy Snider, Chair of Athletes for CARE and CEO of LindiSkin
- Jack Teitelman – former DEA Supervisory Special Agent and CEO of TITAN Group

“What an incredible lineup of talent and expertise,” said Rudder. “We are extraordinarily delighted that Senator Scutari will be here to share his thoughts and insight into his vision for expanding the cannabis industry from medical to responsible adult-use.”
Rudder continued by adding, “Between Sen. Scutari and Lindy Snider, the attendees for this event will get a unique insight into both the political and business side of the cannabis industry – and that is just in the first hour.”
Following the Keynote Address, the seminar will breakout into multiple panel discussions with subject matter experts. Attendees will have the opportunity to get exclusive insight into:
- Current laws and political outlook
- National cannabis industry trends
- Cultivation techniques and strategies
- Dispensary and retail opportunities and challenges
- Real estate investment strategies and opportunities
- Medical cannabis – the science and importance as alternative medicine
- Strategies to navigate a legal cannabis business in a highly-regulated environment
One of the subject matter experts, retired DEA Supervisory Special Agent Jack Teitelman, will focus his discussions on the importance of security for cannabis facilities as well as the importance of cannabis as an alternative to opioids.
Teitelman, Founder and CEO of TITAN Group, a security and drug diversion company, stated, “Now is the time to really push and educate lawmakers, and other government officials, to better understand how medical cannabis can help defeat the opioid epidemic. I can tell you from firsthand experience, the opioid crisis that exists today was not there a decade ago. This crisis was created by a lack of education and limited alternatives. By adding medical cannabis into the solution mix for pain management, we can significantly reduce the need for highly addictive opioids.”
“We are extremely excited about where this industry is heading,” added Rudder. “The scientific breakthroughs in cannabis coupled with the statistics coming from other states showing how a responsible cannabis industry benefits the community is something lawmakers are taking seriously. Whether it’s about jobs created, first time entrepreneurs, civil justice or combating opioid addiction, responsible cannabis laws are critical and New Jersey will play a significant role in this evolution in the coming months and years ahead.”
The New Jersey CannaBusiness Association’s mission is to promote jobs and growth in a sustainable and responsible cannabis industry. Starting with the pioneers in the medical cannabis market to the emerging players in the adult-use space, the NJCBA’s focus is to make certain that decision makers and regulators understand and respect the needs of the CannaBusiness community and that our community remain responsible corporate citizens.
