New Jersey Citizen Action Endorses Irwin, Leibowitz, Tillman and Johnson in Piscataway Township primaries
Progress Begins at the Local Level
This year there is an election in Piscataway Township for Mayor and Council. New Jersey Citizen Action firmly believes that progress begins at the local level. That is why we are proud to announce that the NJCA Political Action Committee (PAC) is endorsing Bill Irwin for Mayor, and Laura Leibowitz, Kamuela “Nikki” Tillman, and Ralph Johnson for Council in this year’s upcoming Democratic Primary election.
All four of these candidates have demonstrated an enduring commitment to progress, justice, and equality. Running together as Democrats on Your Side, they believe Piscataway deserves better leadership than the existing governing body has provided. Bill Irwin and Ralph Johnson were previously endorsed by the NJCA PAC in their successful bid for Piscataway Board of Education, where they helped make the Board one of the most progressive in the state. Under their leadership, the BOE was the first in the state to adopt protections for undocumented students, as well as the first to establish a food justice program so that no child goes hungry or feels ashamed about needing food assistance. Laura Leibowitz and Kamuela Tillman are tireless volunteer leaders running to bring progressive values to local government, joining a committed team that is working to make local government more inclusive, open, and responsive to the shared values of the entire community.
During these challenging times, we need leaders who not only get things done, but also govern with compassion. Bill, Ralph, Laura and Kamuela will serve Piscataway residents well. Remember to vote for “Democrats on Your Side” in Column A on your Vote By Mail Ballot, and be sure to complete your ballot by the July 7th Primary Election!
Very truly yours
