“In the midst of unprecedented threats to our democracy and the Republican Party’s never ending attacks on the poor, people of color, immigrants, and working families, we need strong leaders ready to fight for our for all of us and reject the politics of division and hate,” said Phyllis Salowe – Kaye, Executive Director of New Jersey Citizen Action.
She continued, “The incumbents we are endorsing today have fought against these attacks and consistently worked to hold the line to preserve vital programs like the Affordable Care Act. The incumbents we endorsed have also advanced policies and programs that working families need like paid family leave, an increased minimum wage, access to affordable healthcare coverage, lowering the costs of prescription drugs and consumer financial protections.”
“Challenger Dr. Arati Kreibich is also receiving our endorsement today as the best candidate running in the CD 5 race that will fight for all of us, put working families first and will strongly oppose the destructive policies of the GOP.”
“Our nation is in total crisis and New Jersey needs the leadership of these endorsed candidates to ensure we are adequately responding to the current COVID–19 public health crisis and on a path to economic recovery for all families. Furthermore, we need to combat systemic racism, and address the inequities and injustices that communities of color have long faced. The candidates we are endorsing today support and will fight for affordable health care for all, a livable wage, paid family leave, immigrant rights, worker’s rights, consumer protection against large financial institutions, tax fairness, the affordability of higher education, rights for LGBTQIA+ people and women, and are aligned with the values of New Jersey Citizen Action.”
