The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and Environmental Partners May 20 Webinar: “State of Our Parks” During and Post-COVID-19
What: NJ DEP Commissioner, Catherine McCabe, and Assistant Commissioner for Natural & Historic Resources, Ray Bukowski, will discuss what New Jerseyans and visitors need to know to stay safe and enjoy New Jersey’s parks and other natural resources during and post-COVID-19.
When: May 20, 2020 at 2:30 to 3:30 pm EST
Where: Zoom (see instructions below)
Who: New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, New Jersey LCV, Barnegat Branch Rail Trail Alliance, Waterspirit, Musconetcong Watershed Association, Watershed Institute, NJ Audubon, NJ Conservation Foundation, Hunterdon Land Trust, American Littoral Society, Clean Ocean Action, Pinelands Preservation Alliance
Why: In April, all county parks and forests in New Jersey were ordered closed indefinitely due to the coronavirus outbreak. On May 2, the parks were reopened with some caveats, including a 50% capacity limit, a prohibition on picnics or any organized activities, and social distancing requirements. With the Memorial Day holiday weekend approaching, the NJDEP and their environmental partners want to provide guidance on remaining safe and preventing the spread of COVID-19 while having fun.
