New Jersey Future statement on release of stormwater utility bill from Assembly Appropriations Committee

TRENTON, Jan. 28 — New Jersey Future released the following statement on the release of A2694, which would permit establishment of stormwater utilities, from the Assembly Appropriations Committee:

“New Jersey is well on its way to joining 40 other states that have enacted this important flood-reduction tool,” said Chris Sturm, New Jersey Future’s managing director for policy and water. “This legislation will allow local governments to fund projects to manage flooding and runoff from rainfall, preventing road closures, property damage, and business disruption. We are excited to see this move forward.”
