Today the New Jersey High School Democrats and the New Jersey Teenage Republicans condemn Councilwoman Vaughn for her homophobic comments made towards the openly gay Mayor of Trenton, Reed Gusciora.

“Councilwoman Vaughn’s openly homophobic words are offensive and a gross misrepresentation of New Jersey values and politics. It is irresponsible of her to use her platform to promote such hate. We strongly condemn her actions and advocate for her immediate resignation,” said Rachel Gurevich, Chair of New Jersey High School Democrats.

New Jersey Teenage Republicans Chairman, Jake Shoemaker, added, “The homophobic rant by Councilwoman Vaughn is completely unacceptable behavior for an elected official and is strongly condemned by the NJ Teenage Republicans.
