NEW JERSEY LCV WELCOMES ALLISON MCLEOD AS NEW PUBLIC POLICY DIRECTOR, GAJDA BECOMES DEPUTY CHIEF OF STAFF AT BPU
TRENTON – The New Jersey League of Conservation Voters (LCV) welcomes Allison McLeod, who will join the organization on April 18, 2022, as the new Public Policy Director. Allison will replace Henry Gajda, who is leaving New Jersey LCV to join the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU) as Deputy Chief of Staff.
“I want to thank Henry for his work and commitment to New Jersey LCV. Because of his outstanding leadership we passed all five of our common agenda legislative priorities into law in two consecutive legislative sessions,” said Ed Potosnak, Executive Director, New Jersey LCV. “We look forward to continuing to work with him on important environmental issues and wish him luck in his new role.”
Prior to joining the New Jersey LCV, McLeod was Director of Personnel and Strategic Operations for Holmdel Township, advising on special projects. Allison is also a member of the Aberdeen Township Zoning Board.
A lifelong resident of New Jersey, McLeod received her Bachelor’s degree in marine science and psychology from the University of San Diego. After graduation, she began work in the Gulf of Mexico as a marine mammal observer.
Following her work as a marine mammal observer, McLeod joined the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection’s (NJDEP) Office of Government Relations, where she worked for several years assisting New Jersey’s various municipalities with environmental concerns.
“I am thrilled to join the dedicated team at New Jersey LCV who care so much about our environment,” said Allison McLeod, New Jersey LCV Public Policy Director. “I am looking forward to helping with the mission to elect environmental champions and to enact good environmental policy that will benefit all New Jerseyans no matter their zip code.”
“I am honored to have Allison join New Jersey LCV. She has tremendous passion for the environment, and her superb background in environmental policy is just what we need during this critical time,” added Potosnak. “As we work to tackle climate change, provide clean air, safe drinking water, open space, and advance policies that combat environmental racism, her proven track record will build on the strong success of the organization.”
When McLeod isn’t working, you can find her reading, exploring local coffee shops, and hiking with her dog.
