New Jersey Legacy Foundation Black Tie Gala Freedom Dinner Cruise Celebration

HOST A BLACK TIE GALA EVENT ABOARD THE CONUCOPIA CRUISE LINE DESTINY 
TO CELEBRATE “A TRIBUTE TO OUR JOURNEY” FREEDOM DINNER CRUISE CELEBRATION
 
 
 
Elizabeth, NJ- Positive Community in partnership with New Jersey Legacy Foundation will host a black tie gala “Freedom Dinner Cruise Celebration” aboard the Cornucopia Cruise Line Destiny.
 
The purpose of the event is to celebrate President Joe Biden’s June 17th bill signing making Juneteenth the 12 federal holiday, in addition to recognizing the efforts of community people (Ambassadors) who have made outstanding contributions.
 
Ms. Opal Lee, who’s considered the grandmother of Juneteenth, Lt. Governor Sheila Oliver and Congressman Donald Payne Jr., will be making special presentations outside of the ship at 4:30pm.
 
There will also be a re-enactment of the1865 Emancipation Proclamation announcement when Black horseback cowboys come riding into the Elizabeth Marina at 4pm to deliver the proclamation, witch will be read by Lt. Governor Sheila Oliver prior to boarding the ship.
 
R&B singer/actress Melba Moore will kick off the festivities by singing the Negro National Anthem, Positive Community Magazine will be dedicating a special tribute to all the Ambassadors, sponsors and elected officials that have provided Friends of NJ Legacy Foundation with support, each of their respective names will appear in the magazine.

Governor Sheila Oliver, Melba Moore, Councilwoman Patricia Perkins, Commissioner Jerry Jacobs, Assemblyman Jamel Holley, Assemblywoman Shanique Speight, Reverend George Britt, Father Andy Moore, Councilman William Gallman, Councilman Dave Brown, Anna Wilkins-Daily, Reverend Amos Dickerson, Assemblywoman Shavonda Sumter, Assemblywoman Cleopatra Tucker, Commissioner Linda Carter, Assemblywoman Verlina Reynolds, Adrian Council Positive Magazine.
