New Jersey LGBT Chamber of Commerce: “Pride Month Celebrations Go Virtual in New Jersey!”

“Pride Month Celebrations Go Virtual in New Jersey!”

The New Jersey LGBT Chamber of Commerce plans ‘Virtual Pride Night Extravaganza!”

NJ,  June 25th, 2020 – The New Jersey LGBT Chamber of Commerce is excited to host their first Virtual Pride Night Extravaganza! Due to COVID-19 and social distancing mandates, in-person events to celebrate Pride Month throughout the State have been postponed or canceled altogether.

The NJ LGBT Chamber sought to fill this void and organized a virtual event jam-packed with guest speakers, a drag queen performance, and LGBTQ trivia with the opportunity to win hundreds of dollars’ worth of prizes.

“The purpose of this event is to allow attendees to reflect on the meaning of Pride and celebrate diverse communities in all forms,” says NJ LGBT Chamber Board Member, Stephen Blazejewski. “Even though we are not able to celebrate in-person, this is the perfect opportunity to come together in spirit while also bringing some levity to these trying times.”

The event’s Keynote Speaker is Fred E. Tree Sequoia (lovingly known as “Tree”). Tree is a Veteran of the Stonewall Rebellion, and 51 years later, is still bartending at the Stonewall Inn. Jane Clementi, CoFounder and CEO of the Tyler Clementi Foundation will be a Guest Speaker.

The Virtual Drag Performance and LGBTQ Trivia portions of the event will be hosted by the extremely talented, Olivia Lux! Hailing from New Jersey, Olivia is the reigning Miss Paradise and was recently crowned Arik Cavalli’s Virtual Drag Megastar. She has been featured on Buzzfeed, World of Wonder WOW Report, and the CW’s Katy Keene.

Sponsorship opportunities are available for small businesses and larger corporations who are looking to gain more exposure within the LGBTQ business and professional community. For more information, click HERE or email info@njlgbtchamber.org.

On Thursday June 25th, the Virtual Pride Night Extravaganza will take place using the virtual meeting platform, Zoom, from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. All are welcome to attend, including allies of the LGBTQ community. There is no cost to attend the event, but a $10 donation is suggested. Funds raised will support the programming efforts of the NJ LGBT Chamber of Commerce and its members during COVID-19 and beyond.
