Trenton– The New Jersey State Policemen’s Benevolent Association (“PBA”) today announced its endorsement of Senate President Steve Sweeney, putting the support of the more than 33,000 member union of police officers with Senator Sweeney for reelection to the New Jersey Senate.
“We are standing with Steve Sweeney because he stands with us,” said Patrick Colligan, the President of the NJSPBA. “He understands the demands our members face as law enforcement officers and the challenges we experience as working men and women struggling to support our families and to care for our loved ones. Steve Sweeney has fought to do the right things for police officers and for working families. He is a reliable advocate for our priorities.”
“I am honored to have the support of the police officers in New Jersey who serve to protect communities of all sizes, all types and in every region of the state,” said Senator Sweeney. “The men and women who take an oath to serve and protect put their lives on the line every day to keep our communities safe and to respond to emergencies that can be life-threatening to any of us at any time. They are the heroes among us.”
