Ocean City, NJ – New Jersey Right to Life PAC announced its endorsement of conservative Republican Bob Patterson in the Republican primary in New Jersey’s 2^nd Congressional District. Patterson is challenging long-time pro-choice Democrat Jeff Van Drew.

“Bob Patterson is the only pro-life candidate running in the 2^nd Congressional District, and we are happy to endorse him,” said Marie Tasy, Executive Director of New Jersey Right to Life PAC. “We are confident that Bob will always vote for pro-life legislation and against taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood’s abortion business.”

In contrast to Patterson’s pro-life record, Cong. Van Drew is emphatically pro-abortion.

• As a state senator, Van Drew received a 100% rating from Planned Parenthood in 2016-2017 (Planned Parenthood)
• Van Drew has described himself as “unequivocally pro-choice,” saying: “I’m strongly and unequivocally pro-choice: I support Roe v. Wade and a woman’s right to choose. Any efforts to weaken or undermine that right will face my fierce opposition.” (The Intelligencer)
• Van Drew boasted about funding Planned Parenthood 16 times in a 2018 congressional debate. When asked, “Are you in favor of funding Planned Parenthood? Why or why not?” Van Drew answered: “To make a long story short, I have voted 16 times for those agencies to be able to survive in the state of New Jersey. And sometimes I was voting to override his [Gov. Christie’s] veto. And sometimes I was just voting for the agency itself. But in either case, I am a supporter; I have always been, and I have the voting record to prove it. • As recently as this year, Van Drew voted for the radical Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) that will pave the way for taxpayer-funded abortions and has been opposed by the vast majority of Republicans for five decades. (RC #70)
