New Jersey Winery Hosts Virtual Memorial Day Weekend Celebration
Old York Cellars Virtual Celebration to Support The Community Food Bank of NJ, Local Musicians and Comedians
RINGOES, NEW JERSEY, MAY 20, 2020 – With the success of Old York Cellars Winery Virtual Spring Festival viewed by over eighty thousand people, the winery is hosting a Virtual Memorial Day Weekend Celebration. The winery will use some of the proceeds from the weekend to support the Community Food Bank of NJ, as well as local musicians and comedians who have been unable to perform live at venues over the past few months. The weekend entertainment will feature seven local musicians and eight comedians.
The celebration kicks off on Friday, May 22 at 5 PM, with three days of music, comedy, culinary demonstrations, and wine education. The comedy includes new video performances from Julia Scotti (as seen on America’s Got Talent), Chris Monty (as seen on Netflix), Joey Callahan (a regular at the Borgata) Buddy Fitzpatrick (a NYC comedy club favorite), Marc Kaye (as seen on Comedy Central), Joe Bronzi (award-winning comedian) and Helene Angley (the hostess of Old York Cellars monthly Wine & Comedy Nights). The musicians featured include Mark Mayer, Thomas Johnston, Anker, Craig Rutter, Barbie Tatum, Nothing Follows and RPG Project.
The Virtual Weekend includes cooking and sangria demonstrations, wine tastings and pairings from Chef José Diaz of Old York Cellars Tasting Room & Kitchen in Lawrenceville and the Old York Cellars Winery team.
The Memorial Day Weekend Celebration will be hosted on the Old York Cellars Facebook page and YouTube channel. Virtual guests and participants can engage in live chats on Facebook throughout the weekend. The winery is donating a portion of wine sales from their What Exit Wines charity series of wines to the Community Food Bank of New Jersey. Viewers and website guests will also have links to special custom labeled wines that help support the participating musicians and comedians.
The owner of the winery, David Wolin said that, “The Community Food Bank of New Jersey is a wonderful organization that fights hunger and poverty throughout New Jersey. It’s important to us to continue to help the residents of New Jersey struggling from the devastation of the pandemic. We hope that our celebration weekend will bring some much needed laughter and enjoyment to many people.”
Old York Cellars is encouraging weekend celebration virtual guests to host their own virtual weekend celebration at home and try some of the creative recipes from the winery’s Facebook page or order a delicious takeout picnic created by Chef José Diaz at their Quaker Bridge Mall Tasting Room & Restaurant.
In early April, the award-winning winery introduced its new line of Message on a Bottle customizable labels that have sayings like, “I Miss Your Face”, “Big Hugs,” “Thinking of You Today”, “Quarantine & Chill”, “Thank You Healthcare Hero” and several more. The Message on a Bottle labels are designed to reach out to friends and family who are isolated in their homes, while also supporting those in need by donating a portion of sale of the charity wines to the Community Food Bank of New Jersey.
The Message On A Bottle custom label program allows consumers to add their personal touch with text and photos. Consumers can order online at https://www.oldyorkcellars.
The Memorial Day Weekend entertainment line up and schedule is posted on the winery’s website at www.oldyorkcellars and on their facebook page.
