New Jersey Working Families Statement on Governor Christie’s Tying School Funding, Horizon Horse Raid

NEWARK- In response to the assertion by Governor Christie that school funding will only move in tandem to Horizon shakedown, New Jersey Working Families Alliance Executive Director, Analilia Mejia released the following statement:

“Governor Christie’s tactics against New Jersey working families knows no limits. Working in collusion with Senate President Sweeney, the Governor is now holding additional school funding hostage in exchange for support for his Horizon shakedown. We call on the U.S. Attorney for the district of New Jersey to investigate this action immediately as the very kind of scheme that Governor Christie prosecuted when he was U.S. Attorney. By raiding Horizon, Governor Christie continues the GOP assault on healthcare by destabilizing one of only two ACA insurers and the only provider that covers Medicaid patients in every county across the state.”
