It has recently been revealed through a legal deposition that 5^th Congressional District candidate Steve Lonegan called a fellow Republican a “Fundamentalist fa***t piece of sh*t.”  New Jersey Young Republican Federation Chairman Giancarlo Ghione is disappointed over this attack, and other attacks that have been made towards Young Republicans.

“It’s upsetting,” Ghione said.  “The attacks on fellow Young Republicans began months ago.  The decorum of these incidents is similar to the harsh words that Lonegan had for Mr. Silos.”  Ghione said referring to articles published on the “Jersey Conservative” blog.  “Young Republicans have consistently been referred to metrosexuals while these anonymous bloggers hide behind their computer screens.”

The Young Republicans Chairman went on to say, “These attacks are below the belt.  Young Republicans are inclusive, and the comments made my Mr. Lonegan towards Silos is the antithesis of that. I will not, and cannot, stand by idly while the next generation and my Republican Party are subjected to attacks.  I do not stand by the statements Steve Lonegan has made, and I do not stand by Lonegan as he and his supporters continually degrade our Republican brand.”
