New Jersey’s Largest Firefighters Union Endorses Alixon Collazos-Gill for NJ State Assembly
RAHWAY, NJ (May 3, 2023) – The New Jersey Firefighters Mutual Benevolent Association, the largest labor union representing New Jersey career firefighters, EMTs and dispatchers, is endorsing Alixon Collazos-Gill for State Assembly in New Jersey’s 27th district.
New Jersey’s 27th Legislative District includes the Essex County communities of Montclair, West Orange, Millburn, Livingston and Roseland, and Clifton in Passaic County. The NJFMBA represents firefighters and first responders across the district, with locals in Montclair, West Orange, Clifton and Millburn.
“It has never been more important for New Jersey’s career firefighters and first responders to have true allies who understand and respect our profession in Trenton, and we know that Alixon Collazos-Gill will be a true ally looking out for our members,” said NJFMBA President Ed Donnelly. “It’s critical that our firefighters and first responders have the resources they need to protect our communities safely and professionally, and we know that we can count on Alixon Collazos-Gill to fight for us,” Donnelly said.
Alixon Collazos-Gill, a resident of Montclair, is a long-time community leader, Democratic activist and mother of two. Through both her professional and volunteer work, Collazos-Gill has extensive experience in public policy and making government work better for its constituents.
“Our firefighters and first responders put their lives on the line every day for us, and face extraordinary challenges doing their jobs every day,” Collazos-Gill said. “They deserve to know they can count on their government to support and protect them, as much as our communities count on them to protect us. I could not be more honored, or prouder, to have the support of Ed Donnelly and the NJ FMBA,” she said.
