NEW JOBS PAC Congratulates Legislative Winners

New Jersey Organization for a Better State (NEW JOBS) PAC, the State’s largest and most
influential ideological business political action committee, congratulates the winners of the 2019
Legislative election.

“With the state having the highest tax rates in the region and having struggled for a decade to
reach pre-2008 recession growth numbers, it is vitally important for our state legislators to
promote policies that grow our economy and produce jobs,” said Chrissy Buteas, Executive
Director NEW JOBS PAC.

Currently, the Assembly holds a 54-26 Democratic majority, while the Senate holds a 26-13
Democratic majority in the New Jersey Legislature. The Republican Party picked up two seats
on Tuesday night in the Assembly, with two additional seats still undeclared making the
potential pickup four seats. In the Senate, Republicans increased their representation in the New
Jersey Legislature by one seat.

“We congratulate NEW JOBS PAC-endorsed candidates and newly elected legislators to the
State Senate and General Assembly,” said Buteas. “As they take office in January, we look
forward to working with our newly elected legislators to promote policies that grow New
Jersey’s job creators and put the state on a more competitive footing with our surrounding
states.”

“With state spending increasing 11% over the past two years, New Jersey can’t continue to raise
taxes and mandates on our business community,” said Buteas.

The New Jersey Organization for a Better State (NEW JOBS) is a nonpartisan organization
whose trustees promote a pro-business climate in New Jersey by endorsing and supporting
legislative candidates who actively support economic growth, the creation of private-sector jobs,
and the lowering of business costs.
