New Planned Parenthood NJ Super PAC Launches Mail Program

TRENTON, NJ – Planned Parenthood NJ Super PAC has dropped its first piece of mail to targeted voters in key battleground districts, alerting them of the impact the upcoming state elections will have on abortion rights in New Jersey. This mailing targets those most likely to vote-by-mail and motivates them to return their ballots promptly, hitting 66,000+ doors.

“Abortion is on the ballot this November,” said Jackie Cornell, trustee of Planned Parenthood NJ Super PAC. “We’ve seen the playbook in the 20-plus states that have banned or restricted abortion since Roe v. Wade was overturned. Our legislature – and Governor – will determine whether or not we have reproductive freedom in New Jersey.”

The mail piece (which is attached) highlights the ways that other state legislatures have pounced on the post-Roe opportunity to strip their states’ residents of access to abortion. In states like Texas, Idaho, and North Carolina, bans and restrictions have caused devastation to individuals trying to access abortion care. With the entire New Jersey legislature up for election on November 7, voters have the power to protect abortion access and reproductive freedom.

National and state polling shows that abortion rights are the top motivating issue for voters this cycle. Planned Parenthood’s ability to reach voters with targeted messaging that speaks to top-of-mind issues of abortion, bodily autonomy, and freedom gives the organization a unique and important opportunity in the 2023 election cycle (and beyond).

“Abortion access is a key issue for voters across the state,” continued Cornell. “These voters just need the information and resources to go vote and make their voices heard, and Planned Parenthood is the messenger they trust most on issues of abortion and reproductive freedom.”

The group plans to launch a similar mail piece to ‘Presidential-only’ voters in key districts within the next 10 days. As voters head to the polls, Planned Parenthood NJ Super PAC hopes to send additional piece(s) highlighting endorsed candidates. A third piece (or more) is contingent on additional fundraising.
