Newark Central Ward Annual Block Party will focus on COVID 19

Newark Central Ward District Leader and President of The Historic James Street Commons Neighborhood Association Tammy Hollaway will host a Block Party to acknowledge Central Ward residents and District Leaders impacted by COVID-19. The Block Party will take place Saturday August 7, 2021 beginning at 1pm until 4pm. Festivities will begin at 53 Burnet Street, Newark, NJ 07102.

“As a direct result of the coronavirus pandemic, many of our Central Ward residents have endured loss, isolation, uncertainty and short and long term illness. The impact of COVID-19 continues to remind us that our communities should always share, celebrate and be kind to one another. I want neighbors and families to know that the Central Ward is united in our recovery process. As New Jersey businesses and schools gradually reopen, I understand many people are eager to get back to our social norms. By working together, we will get there safely one step at a time. Please join us on August 7th at 1pm  for some family friendly BBQ, crab boil and a moment of reflection” – -Tammy Hollaway

Special guests include Central Ward Councilwoman Lamonica McIver and New Jersey Assemblywoman and Central Ward Democratic Committee Vice Chair Shanique Speight. The event has been sponsored by The Historic James Street Commons Neighborhood Association, Newark’s Central Ward Democratic Committe and the Kawaida Towers Team, Omni America LLC, NAN Tech World and Mid Atlantic Alliance.
