Next Steps in the Fight to Defend DACA with Reps. Frank Pallone Jr, Donald Norcross, and Bonnie Watson Coleman; Telephone Town Hall

In the wake of the Federal Budget Deal, with no protections for the 800,000 DACA recipients, labor, immigrant and grassroot groups and Members of Congress will hold tele-town hall on next steps to defend DACA

NEWARK — Last night, Congress passed a federal budget and stop the government shutdown — but noticeably absent from the deal are protections for DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) Recipients.

Today, at 1PM, labor, immigrant and local grassroot organizations will host a telephone town hall discussion with Congressman Frank Pallone Jr., Congressman Donald Norcross, and Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman to unpack the key components of the Federal Budget Deal and discuss next step in the fight to protect DACA.

Participants will be allowed a Q&A with the members of Congress. Additionally, Congressional members will be made available to the press towards the end of the call.

Event is organized by New Jersey Working Families Alliance and co-sponsored by Make the Road Action New Jersey, NJ Alliance for Immigrant Justice, NJ 11th for Change, NJ7 Forward, South Jersey Women for Progressive Change, and Indivisible Cranbury.
