NJ Citizen Action Endorses Bob Menendez for U.S. Senate

New Brunswick, NJ – The Menendez for Senate Campaign announced today that New Jersey Citizen Action has endorsed Bob Menendez for reelection to the U.S. Senate. New Jersey Citizen Action is a statewide grassroots organization that fights for racial, social and economic justice and is the largest progressive citizen watchdog coalition in the state.

Bob Menendez has continually stood up against powerful corporate interests to protect consumers and the public.  As a senior member of the Senate Banking Committee, he has led the charge to hold Target and others accountable for their failures to secure customer data, and Wells Fargo for stealing millions from its customers in a phony account scheme. The Senator has consistently taken on the airline and oil industries over their abuses.

Bob Menendez co-authored the Affordable Care Act that gave access to healthcare for nearly a million New Jerseyans who didn’t have coverage before, and protected 3.8 million patients with pre-existing conditions.  He has also sponsored the SPIKE Act and CREATES Act aimed at driving down the high cost of prescription drugs.  Sen. Menendez has always stood by women’s health care, cosponsored the Women’s Health Protection Act, has a 100% rating from Planned Parenthood, and avidly pushes to expand paid sick, medical, and family leave.
