NJ GOP State Committeeman Einstein Leads Rally Against Menendez

Jersey City, September 6 – Joshua Sotomayor Einstein, the NJ GOP State Committeeman from Hudson County, organized and led a protest against notoriously unethical Senator Robert Menendez, who appeared as the guest of honor at a Hudson County Democratic Organization (HCDO) event. “The fact that the county democratic leadership would choose to honor Menendez, whose documented history of moral corruption is well known, speaks to the type of crooked politics the Democrat bosses mistakenly believe the residents of New Jersey are willing to tolerate,” said Einstein.

Menendez remains the only sitting Senator to be unanimously admonished by the bi-partisan Senate Ethics Committee. That committee, composed of 6 Senators, 3 from each party, made waves by universally rebuking Menendez for accepting illegal gifts valued in the millions of dollars and for lobbying federal agencies on behalf of his now jailed friend and associate, Salomon Melgen.  The event at which Menendez was honored, a fundraiser for the HCDO, was led by Chairwoman Amy DeGise, who many believed would chart a new path away from machine politics. However, Chairwoman DeGise, daughter of Hudson County power broker and County Executive Tom DeGise, seems to have doubled down on the “good old boys” style politics by allying with Menendez, a candidate so unpopular that 38% of registered Democratic voters rejected him in the primary in favor of a completely unknown challenger.

Matt Garofalo, Co-Chairman of the Hudson County Young Republicans, stated “Democrats, Republicans, and Independents are tired of excuses. We know what the Justice Department under President Obama knew when they brought charges against Menendez – something is rotten.” Separate from the Senate Ethics Committee investigation and subsequent admonishment, Menendez was charged by the Obama Justice Department with conspiracy, bribery, and fraud.

On a different direction, Einstein said “it’s why we reached out to the Hugin campaign – he is a better choice and sent the campaign bus to support us just as he will support all New Jersey residents, not just his friends as Menendez has done.” Einstein continued, “the voters of New Jersey know they have one good option, to support Senate candidate Bob Hugin so that he can bring honesty and integrity back to NJ and back to the Senate.”
