NJAIJ STATEMENT ON LATEST TRUMP ADMINISTRATION TRAVEL BAN

President Trump’s latest travel ban is a blatant attempt to camouflage what is essentially the continuation of a Muslim ban. Denying access to a few Venezuelan government officials and the handful of North Koreans who attempt entry does not hide the fact that the populations of the other six countries, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Yemen, Syria, and Chad, are predominantly Muslim. The New Jersey Alliance for Immigrant Justice stands by our Muslim brothers and sisters, many of whom have fled dangerous situations in their homelands and who have come in pursuit of the American dream, as have generations of immigrants before them. We will continue to fight for justice and equality for all immigrant New Jerseyans regardless of what rhetoric comes from the White House.
