NJBIA: Put Politics Aside and Put Taxpayers First

New Jersey Business & Industry President & CEO Michele Siekerka issued the following statement Friday.

“The New Jersey Business & Industry Association urges the Legislature and Governor to put politics aside and pass a state budget today so that the taxpayers and the economy of this state aren’t harmed by a shutdown of state government.

“Our position on the Horizon legislation is unchanged; nevertheless, it is a separate issue. The urgency of meeting the constitutional deadline for enacting a balanced budget and avoiding a government shutdown should be today’s objective.

“The Governor and Legislature have shown in recent years that they can work together in a bipartisan fashion for the betterment of New Jersey, and NJBIA urges them to continue to do so.”
