NJBIA Statement on Resolution to Designate May as ‘Small Business Month’

NJBIA President & CEO Michele N. Siekerka, Esq., issued the following statement regarding SJR-27, sponsored by Sen. Vin Gopal, (D-11) and Kristin Corrado (R-40), which is on the Senate Commerce Committee agenda Thursday afternoon.

“From the neighborhood pizza shop to the small-town manufacturer competing in the global economy, New Jersey’s more than 843,000 small businesses are the engine that drives our state’s economy and deserving of the recognition that ‘Small Business Month’ would provide.

“Small businesses in New Jersey employ more than 1.8 million people—half of the state’s workforce—and they are an important part of local identity and pride. Great businesses make great communities, which is why NJBIA supports this resolution to celebrate and support small businesses.”
