NJCA Statement on passage of ACA protection legislation

Trenton– New Jersey Citizen Action released the following statement today in response to the New Jersey State Senate passing the following bills (S626, A5503/S3806, A5508/S3804, A5510/S3813) that help protect many health care gains made through the Affordable Care Act. A full package of ACA protection bills awaits final voting on Monday, January 13th.

“We thank the Senate for passing this legislation and urge the state Legislature to adopt the full package of ACA protection bills on Monday,”  said Maura Collinsgru, NJCA Health Care Program Director. “We are disappointed to see that not all Senators voted for increasing access to health services for many New Jersey residents, and against prohibiting discrimination in health programs and services. We hope the entire Legislature votes to pass the remaining bills that will help provide New Jerseyans with the protection they need from the Trump administration’s continuing assault on the Affordable Care Act and our health care system.”
