NJCBA PRESIDENT SCOTT RUDDER PRAISES AMERICANS FOR PROSPERITY ENDORSING ADULT-USE CANNABIS LEGALIZTION IN NJ

Trenton —New Jersey CannaBusiness Association (NJCBA) President Scott Rudder today praised Americans for Prosperity – New Jersey (AFP-NJ) for announcing their support for safe and responsible cannabis reform, including the legalization of adult-use cannabis in New Jersey.

“This is another great example of the continuing momentum towards legalization,” said Rudder. “Advocates from all sides of the political spectrum have come together because they know that legalization is the right thing to do. At a time when opponents are ramping up their efforts to distort the truth about cannabis, having proponents like AFP-NJ in our corner will go a long way. They know that legalization will create jobs in New Jersey, that it will help stop the injustices of cannabis related arrests, and that it is just the right thing to do.”

Earlier today, AFP-NJ released a statement endorsing the cause of legalization, stating that they hope “a fully-realized effort to legalize recreational marijuana enhances public safety, provides second chances, and is free of cronyism and overregulation.”

“Marijuana reforms that would legalize adult-use cannabis in New Jersey are long overdue in the Garden State,” said Erica Jedynak, State Director of AFP-NJ. “The proposed reforms are imperfect, yet, they remain a good first step toward reforming our criminal justice system which has punished non-violent offenders for far too long. We look forward to working with Scott Rudder, the New Jersey CannaBusiness Association, and all communities and partners seeking to promote a safe and responsible marijuana market.”
