NJDSC Muslim Caucus Gains Omar Bareentto as Co-Chair

TRENTON, NJ – The New Jersey Democratic State Committee Muslim Caucus Chair Sikandar Khan, has selected Omar A. Bareentto to join him as a Co-Chair of the Muslim Caucus.

“It is my pleasure to welcome and revitalize the Muslim Caucus with the addition of Omar Bareentto. Along with diversity, he has the experience and knowledge to guide the Caucus into the next phase of state politics,” said NJDSC Muslim Caucus Chair Sikandar Khan.

Omar Bareentto is a litigation and governmental affairs associate at McCarter & English, LLP. He has prosecuted and defended claims, in both state and federal courts, involving breach of contract, fraud, tortious interference with contract, restrictive covenants, shareholder oppression, breach of fiduciary duty, and federal and state securities laws claims. He is a first-generation Oromo-American living in Newark, New Jersey.

The New Jersey Democratic State Committee Muslim Caucus advocates for the rights of Muslim communities across the State of New Jersey. Through legislative advocacy, education, and political support, the Caucus informs the public about the struggles facing the Muslim community and leads citizens to take action at the state and local level.
