“As Chairman of the New Jersey Democratic State Committee, I have made it a priority to raise up the voices of our caucus members and have worked with diverse communities to create new caucus groups as well,” said NJDSC Chairman John Currie. “I am incredibly proud of our Muslim Caucus for their exceptional work over the years in advocating for their community and for our shared Democratic values. I would like to thank Muslim Caucus Mercer County Directors Afsheen Shamsi and Zebu Jilani for putting this roundtable together and I look forward to working with them for years to come.”
Under the leadership team of Chairman John Currie and Vice-Chair Peg Schaffer, NJDSC caucuses have been given a voice to advocate for the issues important to their communities. These caucuses have been created and have expanded over the last several years providing a megaphone to groups that had not previously had a voice.
