NJEA’s PAC Operating Committee and NEA’s Fund for Children and Public Education has endorsed Sen. Nellie Pou in New Jersey’s 9^th Congressional District. She is running to fill the seat left empty by the passing of Congressman Bill Pascrell in August.

Pou currently represents New Jersey’s 35^th Legislative District in the Senate, a position she has held for more than 12 years. Prior to her election to the Senate, she served in the General Assembly where she was a member of the Assembly Education Committee.

NJEA’s officers, President Sean M. Spiller, Vice President Steve Beatty and Secretary-Treasurer Petal Robertson issued this statement:
