PRESS RELEASE: NJFDW Announces 2023 Peg Roberts Awards

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

September 3, 2023

Somerville, NJ – The annual Peg Roberts Volunteer Service Awards recognition event will be held in person on October 28, 2023 at noon. This exciting and inspirational event will be held at the Pines Manor in Edison, NJ.

Each year, the New Jersey Federation of Democratic Women (NJFDW) honors women throughout the state for their outstanding contributions to both the Democratic Party and women throughout NJ.

We are honored to recognize the outstanding volunteer activity of Ms. Leslie Morris, Camden County Chapter member.

The NJFDW will present their Outstanding Elected Official awards to three Public Servants from the three regions of NJ. Our North Jersey recipient is West Orange Mayor Susan McCartney, our Central Jersey recipient is Middlesex County Sheriff Mildred Scott, and our South Jersey recipient is Atlantic County Commissioner Caren Fitzpatrick.

Last year, the NJFDW instituted the Loretta Weinberg Lifetime Achievement Award to honor Senator Weinberg for her service and longevity as a NJ elected official. We are honored to present the award this year to New Jersey State Senator Shirley Turner.

Because of this event, we are able to provide campaign funds to the Democratic women running for local and county positions throughout New Jersey.
