NJGOP Chairman: Today Is The Most Important Day Of Our Delegation’s Term
For Immediate Release
Trenton, NJ – Today will be the first meeting of the 116th Congress. New Jersey will send eleven Democrats and one Republican to Washington to represent our state. House Democrats have elected Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House.
NJGOP Chairman Doug Steinhardt offered the following comment on today’s first meeting:
“Today is the first of our Congressional delegation’s new term. The eleven Democrats representing New Jersey are now woven into an ultra liberal fabric that threatens our country’s recent progress and prosperity. As they have elected Nancy Pelosi Speaker they have elected leadership that stands for diminished quality heath-care, more burdensome taxes and regulations, and a careless apathy to border security.
“The NJGOP vows to hold our new delegation accountable for their actions and we will shine a bright light on their missteps”
