NJGOP Congratulates Ginny Haines On Becoming The First Woman To Lead Ocean County In 40 Years

Trenton, NJ – Republican Freeholder Ginny Haines is set to become the first woman to lead Ocean County in 40 years. She is expected to be appointed director of the board in January. Freeholder Haines also serves as New Jersey’s Republican National Committeewoman.
NJGOP Chairman Doug Steinhardt offered his congratulations to State and National Committeewoman Haines in the following statement:
“On behalf of the NJGOP, I want to congratulate Ginny Haines on becoming the first woman to lead Ocean County in 40 years. As our party’s national committeewoman she has been a great advocate for our state party and as a Freeholder she has fiercely fought for the taxpayers of Ocean County. Her rise in leadership is well deserved and we are proud to work with her.”
Freeholder Haines, of Toms River, was first appointed to the Board on Jan. 27, 2016 to fill the seat left vacant by Freeholder James F. Lacey.
Freeholder Haines served as the Executive Director of the New Jersey Lottery from July 1994 to February 2002. Freeholder Haines also served as state 10th Legislative District Assemblywoman from 1992 to 1994. She served as the New Jersey General Assembly Assistant Majority Whip. She also served on the Toms River (formerly Dover Township) Township Committee in 2002. She was Clerk of the New Jersey Assembly and also served as a Legislative Aide for state Senator Robert Singer.
Freeholder Haines is the National Republican Committeewoman – New Jersey since 2004 and is co-chair of the Republican National Committee Northeast Region since 2013. She also served as a delegate in 2008, 2012 and 2016 for the Republican National Convention and has represented the state on numerous committees.
