NJOA Calls On Anti-hunting Groups To Reject Violent Extremism From Their Members

Trenton – Sportsmen’s advocacy group condemns “chilling” evidence of multiple death threats and extreme violent rhetoric from key anti-hunting group members.

The New Jersey Outdoor Alliance on Friday released a statement condemning violent political rhetoric and death threats from anti-hunting group members in the wake of multiple bomb scares nationwide with suspected political motivation.

“These chilling comments provide a glimpse into the very real world of radical extremism and how unrepentant extremist rhetoric fuels sinister intentions from those who wish to harm law abiding citizens” said NJOA spokesman Cody McLaughlin, “Let me be unequivocally clear – the NJOA WILL NOT be intimidated by violent extremists – and we are calling on the Governor Murphy, who proudly accepted the endorsements and pushed the extreme agenda of these groups, and leaders of the BEAR Group, Animal Protection League Of New Jersey, New Jersey Sierra Club and Humane Society’s New Jersey Chapter to condemn, in the strongest possible terms, this violent extremist rhetoric – anything less is simply irresponsible.”

Threats included calls to “hunt the hunters” along with explicit details posted on the BEAR Group’s page of “giving hunters a 30 minute head start” then “holding their ugly faces in the air with my steel toe boot stomped on their little necks” by a BEAR Group member with a handgun as her profile picture. The NJOA supports the Second Amendment and responsible, safe firearms ownership but strongly condemns threatening law-abiding citizens who have a net-positive impact on the environment, public safety and the economy.
