NJPP: DACA Court Decision Good News But Congress Must Still Ac

NEW JERSEY POLICY PERSPECTIVE POLICY ANALYST ERIKA NAVA:

“The U.S. District Court’s decision to block the Trump administration’s shutdown of DACA is welcomed, but it does not change the urgency of finding of permanent legislative solution for these young immigrants, whose lives still hang in the balance. Congress must pass a clean Dream Act, and it must do so soon. In the meantime,  unless halted by a higher court, the court ruling will allow DACA recipients to submit their renewal application – in New Jersey more than 8,000 young immigrants were on track to lose their protected status this year.”
