HUGIN SUPER PAC TANGLED IN MONEY LAUNDERING MESS WITH CHRIS CHRISTIE AND TRUMP ATTORNEY

Peter Sheridan, Integrity NJ’s executive director, defends former Gov. Chris Christie in a federal money laundering investigation

TRENTON, NJ — The Executive Director of a Super PAC supporting Republican Senate candidate Bob Hugin is splitting his time defending Chris Christie in an explosive federal investigation into money laundering and fraud. According to the The Wall Street Journal  federal authorities are investigating whether a fugitive Malaysian businessman used millions of dollars in laundered money to pay his legal team, which includes former Gov. Chris Christie and a lawyer for President Donald Trump. The same lawyer running Bob Hugin’s Super PAC is also representing Christie while he is tangled up in this matter and acts as his spokesman.

“Chris Christie, Donald Trump and Bob Hugin are all super rich Republican one-percenters who milk the system for millions of dollars while middle class families struggle to make ends meet and face constantly rising health care and education costs,” says New Jersey Democratic State Committee Chairman John Currie. “New Jersey voters will never support someone like Bob Hugin who made millions ripping off cancer patients and surrounds himself with people like Christie and Trump.”

Hugin spent hundreds of thousands of dollars backing Christie’s unsuccessful presidential bid and is a strong financial supporter of Trump’s presidency. This Super PAC tied to Hugin is simply a way for the GOP to repay Hugin for supporting two failed leaders.

“New Jersey needs a real leader like Senator Bob Menendez to keep fighting against Donald Trump’s intolerable policies, not someone who is more concerned about profiting off of sick and vulnerable Americans,” said Chairman Currie.
