NJUA ANNOUNCES THREE SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

 

Trenton — The New Jersey Utilities Association (NJUA) today announced that three separate scholarship opportunities are now available for New Jerseyans to apply for. They include the James R. Leva Scholarship, the Excellence in Diversity Scholarship and the Trade and Vocational School Scholarship.

 

“Each of these scholarships provides separate and unique opportunities for support at a vocational school or institution of higher learning in New Jersey,” said NJUA President and CEO Thomas R. Churchelow, Esq. “We encourage anyone who is eligible to apply online as soon as possible. We are invested in the future success of New Jersey and hope these scholarships can provide the chance to further the educational and career goals of individuals in need.”

 

The James R. Leva Scholarship will be awarded to one student who is a NJUA member company employee who is employed in New Jersey, or members of their families, in pursuing their higher education goals. The scholarship is named for James R. Leva, NJUA President from 1990-1991, whose professional achievements serve as a model for those who seek to advance themselves professionally through continuing education. The Excellence in Diversity Scholarship will be awarded to two students who are minority, female or who have a disability and will be pursuing a bachelor’s degree at an accredited college or university located in New Jersey. The scholarship award is $1,500 per year, with a maximum of $6,000. Further information, including eligibility requirements, how to apply and deadlines, is available here.

 

The Trade and Vocational School Scholarship will be awarded to one qualified student who will be pursuing a trade or vocational degree at an accredited school located in New Jersey. The scholarship award is for up to $6,000 (with a maximum award of $1,500 per school year) depending on the total cost of the program to be applied to tuition only. Further information, including eligibility requirements, how to apply and deadlines, is available here.
