NJYD South Asian Caucus Applauds Promotion Of Robert Field In Governor’s Office

The NJ Young Democrats South Asian Caucus applauded the elevation of Robert Field, a widely respected rising star who has worked in the Governor’s Office since 2018, to Director of Intergovernmental Affairs for Governor Phil Murphy.

As a child, Field was adopted from an orphanage in India and has worked his way through the ranks of New Jersey politics. Previously, Field has worked on numerous campaigns for US Senator Bob Menendez, LD 16 Democrats, Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman and former South Bend Indiana Mayor and current US Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg among others.

Immediately prior to working in the Governor’s Office, Field served as an aide and speechwriter for Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop. Field got his start in New Jersey politics as an intern for the Somerset County Democrats and Chairwoman Peg Schaffer.
